Trans Pacific Travel

Today the moment we had stressed over and diligently prepared for finally arrived - the day we flew off to our new home! To Tim's great excitement, we also got to ride a 787. The only difference I could really appreciate was that the windows tint six levels (no more window shade!).

I was a little over-excited about downing Tim's stash of Palantir snacks and ended up suffering from a sore stomach the whole flight. I still scarfed down our delicious Japanesey in-flight meals, though.

Dinner: grilled salmon and veggies, soba, pickled daikon and turnip, edamame, fresh fruit, and my favorite - miso soup!

We landed safely, got our bags, and everything was going according plan until we tried to purchase our Narita Express tickets... Tim couldn't quite understand what the ticket counter lady was telling us but we soon figured out that the electric rails were out of commission due to lightning. Grrrr! We and a couple hundred other people scurried to get refunds and find another way home. Thanks, Keisei Skyliner.

Hot and sweaty (80 degree temps and 95% humidity) but happy to have made it! :)
